For its seventeenth edition, ROBOT Festival brings some of the most exciting names on the international electronic scene to Bologna, confirming its commitment to musical experimentation and the digital arts.
The theme ?Syntax Error borrowed the language of computing to reflect on a present saturated with information, proposing the system error as a chance to break our usual patterns of attention and rediscover the value of the unexpected, and of listening.
At Bastardini, this research found a home in two rooms with a strong architectural identity, the Sala Tagliapietre and the Sala degli Innocenti, which hosted a range of performances and musical languages.
On Thursday 8 October, the Sala Tagliapietre hosts Suz & Giuseppe Franchellucci, Lawrence English, feeo and Filibalou. An evening devoted to electroacoustic research, vocal experimentation and the possibilities of listening.
Friday 9 October is the turn of Luca Maria Baldini & Salvatore Insana, Aho Ssan, Front De Cadeaux with Gabor and Matteo Vallicelli, with a line-up that also makes room for audiovisual research and the most hybrid forms of contemporary electronic music.
On both days, the Sala degli Innocenti hosts Baronato Quattro Bellezze, a Rome-based collective whose hallmarks include improvisation and musical cross-pollination.
